Hey all, I am a bit late for my March post, we celebrated my mum's 60th birthday at the beginning of this month (April) and then we have had various delightful bugs on and off for two weeks!! I am here now and have lots of lovely things to share with you all.
March has been full of fabulous Home Ed activities and of course it is the best month for birthdays (mine obviously!)
We have had some amazing Home Ed workshops this month; Wire Art, Drama, Making Mandala's and Discovering Crystals. They are all organized by a fab home ed friend near Pulborough, West Sussex and she brings in local artists to run them. Willow has loved them all and is making some wonderful friends, as am I.
It is great to be meeting people who have similar ideals, ethics and interests as me. There is no competition about "how has your child done this yet?" "Or what level is your child at?" We all just love watching our children grow and learn at there own pace and in their own original styles.
We attended a brilliant and informative Japan Day at Crossbush Farm near Arundel, run by fellow blogger and home ed mum Katie over at Outside the Box - The Gallivanters and her family. Willow had a great time tasting some Japanese food, trying Japanese Hole Punching and doing Origami (her favourite). We have done a lot of origami since, she can remember how to fold the heart she learnt and we have spent ages trying to scour shops for paper.
We have been interested in 'Buildings' this month, creating castles, The Leaning Tower of Pisa and a bandstand. We have looked at a lot of famous landmarks across the world and used the Usborne Flap Book 'See Inside Famous Buildings' it is great and has lovely detailed pictures, interesting facts and lots of flaps. We have loved reading 'Iggy Peck Architect' by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts. It is about a boy who from when he was a baby loved to build out of anything, he builds using his dirty nappies, a Sphinx out of mud and chalk. The story has a lovely rhythm and the pictures are unique, detailed and engaging. It is a fun loving book and I thoroughly recommend it.
We have had a cold beach day with Grandad and Grandma S, fun in a maze with Cousin H, grass fights with Home Ed friends, Easter Egg Hunts, poetry fun at our Creative Writing workshop, purse making, stick wrapping and Willow achieved badge 7 at Gymnastics.
Not much longer now folks!!! I promise, note to self;.... write more posts next month, rather than leave it until the end!!
My last series of photos are from my birthday treats....
We had fun along the Promenade between Brighton and Hove,
Had yummy desserts in a little, dog friendly ice cream parlour in the lanes,
and delicious dinner at The Fountain Pub, Ashurst.
Well that really is it!!! I hope you had a great March.
Enjoy Life x G x
